What’s your definition of Coaching?
People often ask me what coaching is and what it isn’t. I like to explain it like this. I see coaching as a process where I enable my clients to make the right decisions and gain clarification of why and how they think and feel. There’s no set process or one size that fits all, but it generally involves working with my clients to examine and understand the opportunities, issues and problems they face and then helping them think clearly about how these will or won’t affect their goals in the short, medium and long term. I see it as a positive partnership, full of trust and support; I’m all about listening and advising, capturing and enhancing your aspirations and dreams, but leaving the decision making up to you, where it belongs. Unlike a friend, our relationship always maintains a professional and emotional distance which gives me the clarity to offer a different perspective. And unlike a friend, you never have to ask questions back – the focus is purely and simply on how you can achieve what is most important to you.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
Coaching is not therapy or counselling. We will not explore the root cause of any underlying issues.
How do I know if coaching would help me?
Ask yourself one question. Are you ready and willing to transform yourself in order to enjoy a more satisfying and fulfilling life? Coaching can give you a roadmap to reaching your true potential and give you the self-confidence to live what you define as a more confident and authentic existence, whether that’s about reaching your personal goals, progressing your career aspirations, increasing your resilience or simply eroding the blocks and challenges that challenge you.
What can you expect? I’m here to ensure you have:
Genuine focus on what matters
Real belief in your decisions
Boosted confidence
Better relationships, whether at work or at home
Bundles of self-esteem
More energy, more freedom and more fulfilment.
Are you the right coach for me?
Like every important relationship in life, choosing the right coach is about trust, mutual respect and that all-important ‘x’ factor – chemistry. Before we decide that there’s potential for us to work and grow together, there’s always a call or a meeting to ensure we’re on the same page and to explore frankly and honestly whether we’re the right people to embark on this journey.
How long will it take?
There are no quick fixes. We will start by examining and understanding where you are coming from. Then, we’ll go through a process where I will encourage and challenge you into taking the necessary steps to move forward or change in the way you choose. Normally, I work with clients for months not weeks, but I always kick off conversations by helping interpret your own dreams and goals and then working with you to clarify the outcomes you crave and mapping the actions necessary to achieve them. We then stay in touch to analyse your progress and determine a programme and course of action based on what you are looking to achieve.
Which methodology do you use?
I trained as a coach with the internationally renowned Co-Active Training Institute where I learnt that experiential thinking is at the heart of my approach; I believe that reflecting on and understanding your own experiences is the best way to change your future outcomes and Co-Active is the philosophy of wholeness that provides a framework for people to experience the infinite possibilities of life.
What can I expect?
My clients often say that coaching transcended their expectations. Whether it has given them the clarity to think differently, to look at themselves and their potential in a new and fresh way or to get to a place where they feel they’re shaping events in their life rather than reacting to external factors and circumstances, as long as they’re willing to put in the work, the sky truly is the limit. I’ll give you the belief and the tools to take control of your reality and future. The rest is up to you. You can click here to read more about what they had to say.
How do I choose the right coach?
A coaching relationship has many variables, the most fundamental of which is “chemistry” – whether client and coach can quickly develop a rapport based on mutual trust, confidence and respect. To ensure this is the case, I always conduct a free, no-obligation discovery session (a 20-minute call wherein we explore each other’s aspirations and requirements). At the end of this session, we both decide whether there’s a connection that will enable us to work together effectively.
Will it be confidential?
All conversations take place in a safe environment of confidentiality and trust. You can find out more about the International Coaching Federation code of ethics and standards to which I operate by clicking on the following link: https://coachingfederation.org/ethics/code-of-ethics.
What are your fees?
Before we work together we’ll agree the duration and costs of the process we’re embarking on. In our initial consultation we will explore this before I give you a proposal in writing. My fees are equivalent to my peers and I believe my results and success exceed what they achieve. It’s all about return on investment of course and my clients consistently say that I overdeliver on their expectations in every aspect, including value for money.
